BIGBANG is a South Korean boy group under YG Entertainment, debuting as a five-member act on August 19, 2006 at the YG Family 10th Anniversary Concert. The group name reflects their ambition to cause a "big bang" in the music industry. They currently promote as a trio consisting of G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, and DAESUNG. With landmark hits such as "Lies" (2007), "Haru Haru" (2008), "Fantastic Baby" (2012), and "Bang Bang Bang" (2015), BIGBANG has cemented its place as one of the most influential groups in K-pop history. They became the first Asian artists to win Best Worldwide Act at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards, and "Bang Bang Bang" became the first song by a boy group to reach No. 1 on Melon's annual chart.

He also personally designed the official light stick (Baeong). He is widely regarded as an icon of K-pop. DAESUNG Real name: Kang Dae-sung | Born: April 26, 1989 Position: Lead Vocalist A vocalist with a clear yet powerful tone, DAESUNG has also achieved considerable success as a solo artist in Japan.

BIGBANG's formation was documented through a YG Entertainment survival audition program in 2006, where the final members were selected from a large pool of trainees. The public broadcast generated significant buzz even before the group officially debuted. BIGBANG made their official debut at the YG Family 10th Anniversary Concert on August 19, 2006, and released their first studio album, BIGBANG Vol.1, in December of the same year. In 2007, their debut EP ALWAYS and its title track "Lies" swept every music chart upon release, triggering what was dubbed the "Lies Syndrome" and launching BIGBANG to the top of the K-pop scene.

MADE SERIES [M] (2015.05.01) — Includes: Bang Bang Bang "Bang Bang Bang" became the first song by a boy group to top Melon's annual chart, writing a new chapter in K-pop streaming history. 3rd Album MADE (2016.12) — Title: Fxxk It / Last Dance BIGBANG's landmark studio album. "Last Dance," released ahead of the members' military enlistment, deeply moved fans worldwide. Digital Single Still Life (2022.04.05) A comeback single after a long hiatus. Its lyrics reflecting the passage of time and maturity resonated strongly with fans.

Fandom Name: VIP BIGBANG's official fandom name is VIP, meaning fans are the "Very Important Persons" most precious to the group. Official Light Stick: Baeong The crown-shaped official light stick, personally designed by G-DRAGON, is considered the first three-dimensional (3D) idol light stick in Korea. Fans affectionately call it "Baeong."
