SHINHWA

Shinhwa is a six-member boy group that debuted on March 24, 1998 under SM Entertainment. The group holds the record as the longest-running K-pop idol group, having maintained its full original lineup without a single departure for over 27 years. After their contract with SM Entertainment expired in 2003, the members chose to establish their own agency, Shinhwa Company, rather than disbanding or signing elsewhere. In 2012, they became the first Korean boy band to resume activities together after all members completed mandatory military service, and in 2015, they won back the trademark rights to the name "Shinhwa" following a 12-year legal battle.

Shinhwa debuted on March 24, 1998 through KMTV's Show Music Tank. Following their debut album Resolver, hits such as "T.O.P.," "Only One," and "Perfect Man" established them as one of the leading groups of first-generation K-pop. When their contract with SM Entertainment expired in 2003, the members made the unprecedented choice to found their own agency, Shinhwa Company, rather than scattering to different labels. This made them the first K-pop idol group to build a successful career after leaving their original agency. In 2012, after all members completed their mandatory military service, they resumed activities with the 10th album The Return and a comeback concert. In 2015, after a 12-year legal dispute, they regained the trademark rights to use the name "Shinhwa."
